During the press conference after the concert on last April 3rd at 2011 JYJ World Tour Concert in Thailand, the first story that went out from Park Yoochun was his love to his brother Park Yoohwan.

Park Yoochun revealed, “Nowadays more and more people came to me saying ‘I’m watching Yoohwan-ssi drama’” he said. When there were more questions asked regarding his younger brother, he didn’t look pissed at all, instead Park Yoochun’s face seemed to brighter with smile. As Park Yoohwan is in the midst of his rookie steps as an actor, therefore to see many people give attention to his brother, Park Yoochun could feel nothing but proud.

How loving Park Yoochun is towards his brother is already a wellknown fact. Even Park Yoochun visited the press conference of Park Yoohwan’s first drama, MBC weekend drama ‘Shinning Shinning’ in last February to support his brother.

Moreover, Park Yoochun personally came to greet all senior actors to ask them to take care of his brother, showing his full shape of a faihful elder brother.

Park Yoohwan had also showed how important Park Yoochun was in his life. In a recent interview Park Yoohwan said, “Due to the racial discrimination among the society in United States, I spent most of my young times with my family. When my brother went to South Korea to debut, at first I was happy to own our room for myself. But after a week went by, I really missed him that I even cried. I realized how talking to him every now and then had been my strength thus once it’s gone, I just felt cold inside,”

“My elder brother’s attitude as a professional is gorgeous.” Park Yoohwan said, “My goal this year is I want to make my brother to be proud of me.”

Actor Park Yoohwan has confided in us the advice he has received from his older brother Park Yoochun. Park Yoohwan said, “After living for a long time in America, I have not become very familiar with manners in Korea. So in regards to that, my brother emphasized that when becoming a member of the society, it is important to become a good person first before becoming an actor.”

Park Yoohwan has earnestly made his debut as an actor in MBC’s drama “Sparkling Sparkling”. Even though he is a newcomer, even before the casting of this drama Park Yoohwan has ranked number one many times as most popular searched term in online websites. This is because he is brother of the famous star Park Yoochun.

The friendship between these two brothers is special. During the press conference for this drama, Yoochun also suddenly appeared at the venue to encourage his brother. Right now Yoochun is taking care of Yoohwan as an adult but when they were kids it seemed they had lived together amongst fights. Yoohwan said, “Yoochun is more serious, and I have a more relaxed and light way of living. Also there were times when even when Yoochun hadn’t done anything wrong, I would tattle on him and he would get scolded by our mother.”

Park Yoohwan had spent his adolescence in America and in 2001 he had watched the comedy show on MBC Comedy Situation. It was after watching this he had gained his first interest in acting. “The comedy on this stage made me laugh at lot. Seeing this I thought that if was able to make productions like this, I could made people laugh too.” Meanwhile, Yoochun had been casted for his debut drama “Sungkyunhwan Scandal”. As the protagonist of this drama, whenever Yoochun would go for practice, Yoohwan would also follow him without hesitation. It seemed he was attracted to this place of excitement.

The character Yoohwan will be acting is named Han Seo. He said that, “ There are still many aspects to me that are immature. I am very grateful to all the warm viewers who will be watching. This year I want to do any roles from silly roles to athletes.”

To continue to the question of whether he would debut as a singer, he said that he has not been thinking of doing that at all. Because of my brother’s influence it’s been said that I am good at singing, but it’s not like that at all. After seeing Kim Junsu’s singing in his musical, it was so good. It would be impossible for me.” He continued to say that, “Watching my brother’s live performances and t.v. programs, it gives me goosebumps all over. He’s a 180 degrees different from the brother I see at home.” Park Yoohwan concluded by saying, “I don’t know whether I’ll be able to do as well as Yoochun, but I have confidence to show myself as an actor through my own colours.”

Having read Michael Caine’s “Acting Lessons” book three times, the confident Park Yoohwan told us a quote from it and conveyed his enthusiasm, “If your thinking of other profession besides acting, quit right now”.

Park Yoohwan (21), who debuted as an actor through the MBC drama ‘Shiny Shiny Shining’, is known more as ‘JYJ Park Yoochun’s little brother’ than a ‘newbie actor’. But a label is nothing but a label. Park Yoohwan is getting ready to escape the fence of his older brother and fly as he said ambitiously, “I will become an actor who acts well.”

Park Yoohwan-Park Yoochun brothers, ‘SungKyunKwan Scandal’and a fateful encounter
What had Park Yoohwan falling for the charm of acting was his older brother Park Yoochun. Park Yoohwan followed his brother to one of his acting lessons, as Park Yoochun was preparing for his role in KBS 2TV’s ‘SungKyunKwan Scandal’, and the thought crossed his mind, ‘Ah! This is it.’ But the character who charmed Park Yoohwan the most wasn’t Park Yoochun’s Lee Seon Joon. It was Song Joong Ki’s greasy, alcoholic, pompous, playboy and king of carnal pleasure, Goo Yong Ha. “I thought I could play the role of Goo Yong Ha better than the role of Lee Seon Joon. But all I did was sit in awe because Senior Song Joong Ki is such an amazing actor.” When asked if he wants to play the role of a playboy, Park Yoohwan laughed and said, “Don’t take it the wrong way, I’m not one in real life.”

I’ll give JYJ a song for free! But my brother? No!
Park Yoohwan’s greed for lyrical and musical composition shone through. One could see it as he said, “When I get the chance later, I want to work on writing music too. When I have the time, I want to help my brother.” But when asked ‘Would you give JYJ songs for free?’, Yoohwan evoked laughter from those around him as he said, “I would give JYJ songs for free but I can’t do that for my brother.” He has already proved his skills as he participated in the composition of the rap for the song ‘Kiss the baby sky’. “It was a great honor to have my lyrics sung in a song. It made me feel great knowing that my lyrics had gone into the song without a single word being changed. I was more thankful because people around me complimented me.”

“I have prettier eyebrows than my brother”
We asked Park Yoohwan what his best feature is. As soon as the question was asked, he opened and closed his mouth like a goldfish and said, “My lips. Don’t you just want to kiss them?” Following this, we asked him what feature of his he thought was better than his brother’s and he pointed at his eyebrows. “From when he was little, my brother had really sparse hair on his eyebrows. He used to annoy me by plucking mine out, probably out of envy. Um, that’s why I think that my eyebrows are prettier than his. Haha.” On the other hand, he admitted that he would never be able to catch up to his brother when it comes to manners and etiquette. “My brother has spent a long time in the entertainment industry, and that’s why I think I, who debuted much, much later than he did, have a lot to learn from him. Like how his manners are reflected in every action and word of his. Whenever I see my brother, I think, ‘Wow, he’s so cool’.

What was your mother’s precognitive dream about your birth?
We are curious as to what Park Yoochun and Park Yoohwan’s mother’s precognitive dreams were to have given birth to such handsome sons. Park Yoohwan said, “That dream? Wait. Let me ask my mom,” and took out his phone. After their conversation, Park Yoohwan gave a clear explanation, “She said she dreamed of holding an oyster, shining as bright as jewels, in her embrace near a pond in a cave. But she said oysters usually mean it’s going to be a girl.” Following this, he also said, “The precognitive dream my mom had of my brother was that she dreamt of holding a banana the size of her arm in her embrace as it hung for a tree. So she thought she was having twins, but it ended up that it meant that she was going to have another son, not twins. If it wasn’t for that banana, I might have been born a girl.”
